Who we are

The Field Report (thefieldreport.cards) is an independent editorial website. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it refers to the operator of this site.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to operate the site:

• Analytics data — page views, referrer, approximate location (country/city), device type, and browser. This is collected via Google Analytics (GA4) in anonymised, aggregated form. We do not use data from GA4 to identify individuals.
• Advertising data — The Field Report uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
• Contact emails — If you email us at hello@thefieldreport.cards, we retain your email address and message for correspondence purposes only. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Cookies

This site uses cookies in the following categories:

• Strictly necessary — session state, cookie consent preference. These cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to function.
• Analytics — Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid) that measure site traffic and usage. Only placed if you accept analytics cookies.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to The Field Report newsletter, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you the newsletter. Sign-ups use double opt-in: after you submit your address you must click a confirmation link we email you before you are added, so we only ever email people who have explicitly confirmed they want it.

Your email address is stored and processed on our behalf by MailerLite, our email service provider. Every newsletter we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We never sell or share your email address, and we do not add anyone to the list without their confirmed consent.

Third-party services

The Field Report uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics — traffic and usage analytics
• Google AdSense — advertising
• MailerLite — newsletter delivery (stores subscriber email addresses)
• Netlify — site hosting (may log IP addresses for security purposes)
• Pokémon TCG API — card data and pricing (no personal data is shared)

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default). Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is relevant to an open matter, then deleted. We do not maintain a database of user accounts or personal profiles.

Your rights (UK/GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or European Economic Area, you have the right to: access your personal data, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your national data protection authority. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our data practices change. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
